I read in one of your posts about a website that would show vitamins that you could take along with the medication that you are taking. My 16 year old son is taking Adderrall XR, 20mg. He is the non attentive ADD. I have ordered the Nordic Naturals DHA and he is now taking a muti vitamin. I am looking into buying a magnesium supplement like the chewable because the vitamin he takes only has 40mg of magnesium. On the website that I went to it said not to take vitamin C because the acidity works against the breaking down of the Adderrall (I hope I have that worded correctly). Anyway, the multi vitamin has 100mg of vitamin C in it, do you think this is harmful for him while taking Adderrall. I don't think that you can buy a vitamin without vitamin c in it. If you can help I would appreciate it. I am not at all educated on vitamins.

Laura, Just off the top of my head I would say to space the time you give the vitamin so it is at least an hour or more after giving the Adderall. Double check my advice with your pharmacist to be sure.

ohmama, thank you for responding. I think I answered my own question, I had a DUH moment. I am going to start giving him the vitamins at night and of course he gets the adderrall in the morning.

Laura, Not a dumb question at all. Just be sure to give the vitamins with food, like maybe after dinner would be good. Keep an eye on his sleep because sometimes vitamins can energize you and make it difficult to sleep. Not with everyone, but it does with me.
