Since it seems fairly common that some kids don't tolerate B vitamins well in supplement form, do they have that same reaction if you feed them foods high in B Vitamins? Just curious if anyone had tried that and if they noticed any behavioral changes.

I haven't done the B vitamin persay, we try to stay with food loaded with vitamins, but that is a good question. It might be that it has an interaction with the rest of the food, in food form that is. I'll look into it, but since I'm getting back to work, it might mean late morning tomorrow

Does anyone know of a good website that lists the nutritional content of foods in specific amounts? Or is that even possible??
I want to try to supplement with specific B vitamins with foods, so how do I find out, for example, how much biotin is in an egg yolk?
Also, what do you view as the food with the most complete B vitamins in it....wheat germ? Wheat bran? Brewer's yeast?
THANKS!

Here's a couple of places for you to look: For comprehensive nutritional information on fruits (including their B-vitamin content): www.thefruitpages.com/contents.shtmlFor a list of the B-vitamins and which foods are highest in each specific one: home.howstuffworks.com/vitamin-b2.htmNorthwestern University's school of nutrition has a great website. You can select each vitamin individually and find a list of foods complete with specific information on how much of that vitamin it contains. www.feinberg.northwestern.edu/nutrition/fact-sheets.htmlI think Brewer's Yeast is the best source of B-vitamins. It is totally unrelated to the type of yeast which causes problems in candidiasis (yeast overgrowth). To me a big plus for Brewer's Yeast is that there is no question of whether the B-vitamins have been derived from corn or from other allergenic plant sources. (The presence of allergens is the most important reason so many people have trouble tolerating B-vitamin supplements.) There's some info on Brewer's Yeast here: www.diet-and-health.net/Supplements/BrewersYeast.html
