Hello everyone. It has been a good summer for me. I think my boy has been doing fine off meds but he isnt in school. I was leaning toward putting him back on meds this year until I found out about NONI JUICE. It is a natural juice made from noni fruit that is supposed to help cure lots of different problems in people. The book on how to use the juice had ADHD listed as one of the problems the juice can help with. I take the juice myself and it has helped me with my headaches and losing weight. I have also seen the juice help my dad with his high blood presure. Now I know this sounds like a scam or a magic juice but I was thinking of trying it out. My son will only have to take 2 ounces a day. www.nonijuice.us/Above I have listed the link. If anyone has time please look at it and just give me your view on it. I have tired the feingold diet and paid for the materials and I think if you stick with it the diet works. I saw some changes in my son. I still dont give him certain foods that I know will trigger him. I am just looking for some of you that really know alot about natural alternatives to tell me what you think. I have started myself on 2 ounces and my boy is on 1 ounce in the morning and 1 ounce in the evening. He is not curently taking any meds.

The site didn't really provide much information. It seemed to be mostly sales pitch . I would be interested to see if you thought that it made a difference with you or your ds. It didn't seem to have much in the way of nutritional value : this is from the site... What Nutrition Information appears on the TAHITIAN NONIĀ® Juice bottle? Supplement Facts: Serving Size 1 fluid ounce (30 ml) Servings Per Container 33 Amount Per Serving % Daily Value Calories 10 Total Carbohydrate 3g 1% Sugars 2g Vitamin C 10% Iron 2% It does seem like a scam, but on the other hand... it doesn't seem like it would do any harm to try it. It seems expensive, although you don't need to take much a day. They also imply that it doesn't taste very good . Give us a report! Sorry I sound so negative . Bunny TEXT

It doesn't sound too bad, or at least worth a shot, but becareful, I read the ingredients. It says that there are only 3-Morindina Citrifolia Fruit Puree, grape juice and blueberry juice. I know that Mikey doesn't react well with the berries or grapes.....he's tolerable, but whiney. Other than that, I don't see what the hurt could be. Let us know

If you look at the scientific research that's been done on Noni Juice, it appears to function as an anti-oxidant and immunomodulant. There's some evidence that taking it as a supplement may help prevent cancer, and certainly the benefits of anti-oxidants have been pretty well publicized. Noni Juice may be almost as effective an anti-oxidant as Vitamin C, pycnogenol or grapefruit seed extract. (When taken in large, concentrated doses, that is.)
On the other hand, it certainly can't do all it claims to. In fact, over the past 5 years, the FDA has on a number of occasions ordered Noni Juice vendors to stop making wild and unproven claims about its health benefits. Traditionally, South Pacific islanders used Noni as a wound poultice, to treat digestive problems, and to promote liver and kidney health.
Could taking Noni Juice promote better immune system health? Possibly, even probably. Will it have an impact on ADHD? Very doubtful, except in the sense that taking an anti-oxidant to protect from free-radical damage is advisable for everyone. Will it hurt to try it? Probably not, unless your child is salicylate-sensitive, in which case it may cause hyperactivity, emotional lability, or whatever your child's particular salicylate symptoms are.

All very good responses. I wanted everyone to be honest on what they thought about this and especially if they had heard of it before. I know that is sounds to good to be true I thought that myself. I did see some research on it helping with adhd on the website on the testimoney part. I knew it was a chance that is was all made up but I figured that someone out here would know if it was some truth to it. I dont think I will be trying the juice with my son because for some reason lately his sinus has been terrible and I only gave him a few does over the last week. He also has had stomach pains so I am going to stop. I value everyones opinoin out here because I know some of you have done so much research you cant pretty much look at some of this stuff and give a good idea on the power of it.
thanks

Hi Babytay -- I'm just curious what you're doing for your boy since he's off the meds right now. Any supplements or anything? Do you think he'll be able to handle school without medication?

Honestly no I dont think he will be okay without anything this year at school. I am really afraid of what will happen this year. You know my son is so nice when he is alone with me and the family. He also gets along really well with a friend of mines two children. They never fight and they are always asking for him to come over that has been really good for him. Now I am hoping he can get the 504 plan at this public school in my area. I know they are real strict but I think he needs it. I look at him sometimes and i know that he is not ok you know. He is so different. I hope he grows out of all of this. I was maybe going to try the natural supplements again before meds again I really dont want to do the meds at all.

(((((((((((HUGS))))))))))) It is tough to look at sometimes, I know. I'll look through the 504 stuff I have here for you. I would really push for it. Make sure you put it in writing that you would liike this for him and make a copy. If nothing is said within a given amount of time, call and ask for the 504 coordinator. It is a public school, so they have to have one. Oh, get over to the educational threads Back to the natural stuff.....how did the noni juice affect you? Did it make you spacey, more focused? Jittery?
