OK, I was going to test Mikey with the spoon ful of honey, but couldn't because we ran out, SOOOOOOOO I decided to test him with the corn syrup I told him that I wanted to make sure that he liked it, (so that he wouldn't act any different.) Well, the results: He was more talkative while he was getting his homework done, I had to tell him to quit talking and breath.......BUT HE DID HIS HOMEWORK!!!!!! I didn't have to tell him to sit down, sit straight, back to the table, get it done, pay attention....nothing And what usually takes a half an hour, took him 10 minutes....correct.....and neat( for him) 3 pages that I know are not hard, but he usually himhaws around and tells me he's tired and it's boring. I'm baffled. I think I'll start giving him a teaspoon before homework all the time if it works like that ;D Cat, don't jinx me PLEASE Kaiti

;D LOL That is too funny! A spoonful of corn syrup to help with the homework, I love it. Think I'll try it on my DS. Laura

rosyred45,
sometimes it takes several days of using corn syrup or honey to see a reaction. so, i would continue testing me over a few more days in a row and see what happens.
hopefully, nothing will happen, except that your son will just do his work without any problems.

I think corn syrup is bad news. It is used as a sweetener now in almost everything. When corn syrup was invented early in the last century, the incidence of obesity in adults and then children began going up. This will be one of the biggest (no pun intended) problems in the future.
Of course, not getting your homework done is also bad news!! LOL

Well, agreement on both points Barry. I have been paying more attention to things with cornsyrup, but I don't think that is the culprit. We'll see with in the next few days what is what. I realize that the obesity rate has jumped and I think I just saw on the news that WOMEN are about 2 sizes bigger on average than 30 years ago. I know I have to watch my weight since my side of the family id a little on the stocky build, but so far the kids both have my husbands metabolism....Tara has always been a string been and Mikey is actually thinning out, but his muscle sructure is very defined. Hopefully it'll stay that way Kaiti
