Austin likes to eat/lick chalk. Is this evidence of a particular mineral deficiency or just an oddity? If so, what mineral? I believe I've seen a reference to it being a mineral deficit, but don't know which one. (This is a good one for you to think about at 1:30 in the morning catatonic ;D)

I've only heard of eating chalk in connection with a condition called "pica" where severe iron-deficiency (anemia) leads people to eat bizarre things. Chalk is one of the biggies, as are clay and dirt. Since you were at Pfeiffer not long ago, I'd assume they checked red blood cell count since that's a pretty standard component of any blood workup. They would have (should have) caught anemia severe enough to cause pica. So hide the chalk and hope he doesn't turn to something worse as a replacement! (And it's only 1:10 in the morning, so there )
