I have been using feingold for two weeks now and I see a big difference in his behavior. For instance he made the basketball team and when he is on the bench he cant sit like the other players. He sits on his legs or on the floor and pats his feet constantly. The coach knows he has adhd and is very supportive. When he found out my son wanted to play he said yes and told him he had to be really good in school in order to make the team. This makes him feel really special and it helps. I do notice once he gets some playing time he can relax and sit on the bench better. He doesnt get alot of time because he is in 2nd grade and the team is a 3rd and 4th grade team.
He is on a bowling team to and when he bowls he gets really anxious to. Since we stopped the meds his average has gone down I think its harder for him to focus.
How can I get him to relax and focus little better?

For my boy, the most difficult issue to address has been attentiveness. Diet made an enormous difference behaviorally, with things like temper tantrums and fighting. Supplements have had a big impact on hyperactivity. We struggle and struggle and struggle with the attentiveness. This sounds kind of simple-minded, but his teachers have noticed that he's not so restless and distracted when he's been eating LOTS of protein...as in eggs and protein shake for breakfast, chicken salad or tuna salad for lunch with soy milk. Maybe something to do with blood sugar? I don't know. But I try hard to stuff him up on protein foods during school because it seems to help.
