not sure what EPA or DHA is. what is that?

EPA and DHA are long-chain fatty acids of the Omega-3 variety. DHA is the "end product"...the longest of the long chains. EPA is its immediate precursor. When you provide Omega-3 supplements, given in the form of DHA and EPA, they are the most immediately available to the body. EPA and DHA are found in fish oils. Omega-3 oils like flax seed provide the short-chain fatty acids, which your body then has to "build" into the EPA and DHA end-products.
