Honey is home sick today. He has some stomach bug and spent then whole night getting sick. I feel bad that he is sick, but this has been the best day of my life!
He actually let me rock him, for hours! All morning we rocked and talked about everything. I asked him everything I ever wondered about. He told me he is happy at the new house and he loves us.
I asked him why he doesn't look at people's faces and he said they scare him. He also said that other people make him sad. He does not know why he gets so mad he just said he doesn't know.
I have not felt this close to him for a very long time. I think being sick causes him to let some of his defenses down. When the anger is gone he is a totally different kid.
This may not sound like a big deal, but to me it is huge. These days are few and far between. I can't wait until he wakes up again so we can sit together some more, and I don't think I have ever said that before!
This is what I want for Mother's day! Best gift ever.
;D ;D ;D

Good for you! You're such a wonderful mom!! Thanks for sharing that.
My ADHD-son is seventeen now, and we spend a lot of time in the car together. That is where we can do that type of talking -- just sort of sharing our humanity, without having our defenses up.

This is such a great post ... it has put a big smile on my face ... You are seeing the real side of your little boy I also second what Barry says about conversations in the car being such good ones - I also always have the very best conversations with my 15 year old in the car as well!
