So, it appears my son can not handle Peppermint oil in the house. After a few days of not using it and returning to the Orange oil, he has returned to normal. This really sucks because I love to have Peppermint oil burning in the house when I clean or workout. I recommend you use Orange oil, it soothes and calms. I feel a difference when I use it in the house.

Maybe you could just use it in your bedroom or in an area of the house your son doesn't spend any time in, like if you have an office or den or something. Then you could enjoy it without the effects it has on your son. I am glad you got to the bottom of it. Unfortunate for you, but I am sure it is worth giving up!
So do the aromatherapy oils, like Orange as you suggested, have any GOOD effects on your son or is it something you only notice for yourself? Are they expensive? (I know, I am always looking for the least expensive things to try! LOL That is the Dutch in me!)

I notice how it makes me feel calmer and since my son hasn't had a bad reaction to the orange oil I like to think it helps him too. You can pick up the oil diffusers for $10.00 to $20.00. They do make some really cool ones. The oil I got at the health food store. Make sure it's 100% pure oil. The orange oil cost me $3.95 for 1oz. The price usually varies on which oil you buy. I think the peppermint oil was slightly more. I will include a link to a website about the oils and their benefits. I believe you can also look at diffusers on this site. I can not say for sure if it helps my son. If anything, it makes me calmer and more able to deal with him. So there is that benefit. I usually have the diffuser in the living room and you can spell the oil all through the house so........no more peppermint oil for me. www.aromaweb.com/essentialoils/default.aspstore.yahoo.com/auraoil/esoildif.html

You can get them on Ebay, stores that sell the oil sometimes sell the diffusers too. There are alot of places on the web that sell them too. I have seen them sold at Bath and Body works.
