Hello all,
We began supplementing with Omega-3 a couple of months ago. This past week I finally added Magnesium supplements. In one of our boys, the change has been DRAMATIC. And it was immediately noticable.
I don't think it's placebo effect, because he's not inclined to take any meds or supplements, and looks for the negative side effects. But he's 15, so anything is possible.
My question is if it is possible to see such a dramatic difference that quickly, was it just a coincidence, or are the Omegas just kicking in?

Magnesium is so critically important to the way our brain handles neurotransmitters, that I wouldn't rule out a rapid effect. Odds are, however, that you've been using the Omega-3 long enough that you're seeing the results. (For us, that took about 6 weeks.) Put the two together and you're ready to rock and roll!
I'm so happy for you that you're seeing positive changes. Enjoy it! Give yourself a big pat on the back and give your boy an extra hug.
Don't be disappointed if there are bad days mixed in with the good. Keep a notebook so you can always remind yourself how far you've come. I know when my son has a bad day (or, unfortunately, week) I look and him and think "My God, how did I live with that on a daily basis?" It reminds me that what we are doing is working.
Way to go, Mom. Keep up the good work!
