My son has been very emotional lately. He has always been a sensitive kid but we had come along way in this department, THis past week or so he has been veRY emotional. Does any one have any suggestions? Does his omega threes need to be increased? he also takes becalm'd and a small dose of stimulant. I am wondering if I need to change the dosages of all these combinations? Does anyone know of a supplement that helps with this? Thanks in advance for your help!!!

We use no meds, but I have heard from a number of people that such emotionalism can be associated with the stimulants. Most of the med websites list this or similar among side effects (you can look it up on-line, and read the physician's package insert).
For us, emotional lability was resolved for the most part by using the Feingold diet. Artificial colors, in particular, seem to cause such reactions. Restricting sugar and corn syrup intake also help.
Sometimes, though, my son is just a huge pain for absolutely no apparent reason. Lasts a few days and then he starts to level out again. Not a very fun few days, though.

I have to echo Cat. My DS was extremely emotional before going on Feingold. I'm still not sure exactly which culprit removed from his diet eliminated his inablity to cope (he would just fall apart on a regular basis before FG) But that is one symptom we haven't seen again since becoming a Feingold Family. If you're interested check out www.feingold.orgHope this helps~* Foley

thanks for replying. i think he just had a stressful few days. I think i may have made more of this then it is. yesterday was great. it was halloween and between the school parade ,parties and walking around with 12 other boys trick-or-treating you would think that would be tough for an y kid let alone one who has been emotional lately. He did amazing had a great night and was totally fine. so before I change anything I will wait this out and see.
