My first post in this area I think. I so rarely have something big to report. My young ADHDer went to his first taekwondo tourney today. He needed some help with one of his sparring things. He very respectfully asked a lady black belt for help. She got down to his size and helped him. He then asked her to sign his shirt which she did. He was respectful to all of the folks who signed his shirt. I was so proud. Then he went to compete. He sat quietly, watched everyone perform. Did his form and got the highest score! He won the first place trophy for forms!

WOOOOOHOOOOO!!! Wonderful!!! What belt does he have? My son is a green belt, but he's not done any competition. The Grand Master coached the Olympics....he's terrific and loves the children. My son has taken Tae Kwon Do twice a week for two years, nonstop! Tell your son Congratulations! Both of you should be very proud!!

He is an orange belt. He will be testing next week to move up to yellow. He definately is proud of his trophy. He took it all over yesterday to show the neighbors.
He has the tourney bug now. I dont think I will be able to hid the next one from him. Now we know what its like and will be better prepared for the sparring and weapons parts.
