Cost of admission to a waterpark... $40

Cost of meals at the waterpark... $18.75

Cost of snacks....$7.50

The cost of the look on your son's face when you drive by daycare and tell him we are very unexpectedly spending the day at the waterpark... Priceless.

We did a Nathan day yesterday where we did his favorite activity that he never gets to do, eat the food he does not get to eat, and play until exhaustion. After 8 hours of straight swimming, climbing, and sliding I checked if he wanted to go. Nope.... 9 hours... nope... 10 hours...Pretty soon....10.5 hours he could barely keep his head up... then he said ok, lets go shower. It was a great day, one I am sure he will remember as much as I do.

Days like that are the best! I used to do it frequently with Cami when she was in daycare and now at least once a year we have a "hookie" day where I take a day off and don't tell her about it and surprise her by letting her miss school and do whatever she wants. It gets harder though as they get higher in school since a missed school day means make-up work!

Good for you though for surprising Nate with his daycare hookie day and giving him time with dad!
