As most of you know Sam has been at college for the past year working on a Construction award.... At the end of the year he took an exam which he HAD to pass to get the "full accredited award"... We have had to wait quite a while to get the results but today in the post we got the results and the appropriate certificates ... and not ONLY did he PASS ... he passed with DISTINCTION!! ... OMG !! I couldn't believe it!! I am sure you can imagine the feeling in our house when this was opened up and we saw that !! ... Oh I am soooooooo pleased for him and sooooo proud of the effort he has put in over the past year ... Lets hope that continues this coming year when he will be doing a "higher" award ...

On Sam's behalf thankyou SOOO much!! ... BUT the important thing to remember here is that Sam did NOT do well academically at school ... he "struggled" throughout his entire school life ... This really only changed when he went into college and was suddenly working on something he genuinely found interesting! ... (he does still have to do maths, english, Information Technology etc) but somehow in the college environment inncorporated into a course he actually wants to do, this has worked for him where the set up at school failed...

Anne, I had a friend that did exactly that same thing. He was average in school, but when he went to collage, he got straight A's. Different environment, different goals. Miles

And higher motivation I think that´s quite common with boy´s, they dont want to study just for "fun" but when they know it´s going to actually help them....
