Dan came home yesterday and told me that the kids in his language arts class took a 9th grade reading test, just to see how they all did. Well Dan and one other kid are the only ones who got a 100% on it! 
I cant believe that this kid who was 2 grades behind in reading on his last reading level test scored 100 on a 9th grade test. He is only in 8th right now. He has been doing highschool math, but reading has always been such a problem with him. I also noticed last night when he was IMing some of his friends, that his spelling has gotten better. He did not ask nearly as many times how to spell something. 
I was so worried about hiim starting highschool next year, but now I feel much better. He still needs to work on writing, but now I am confident that that will work out as well.
