My two kids who I thought hated each other spent the entire day yesterday cleaning the yard. DS soon to be 14 and DD11 picked up all the sticks, and DS taught DD to drive the riding lawn mower. He mowed the hard parts of the lawn and she did the open area. DS drove the pickup around the house to collect all the tree branches, and stacked them by the road. They worked all day and did not have one argument. That was probably the best "present" I could have had. We went to my Dad and step-moms for dinner, and after DS picked up everyones dishes, rinsed them and put them in the dishwasher without being asked. I am so proud of both of them.
