A few weeks ago the school sponsored a readathon to raise money for the playground. I got both my school age children to participate! Not only was it a great way to raise money but it inspired both my kids to read. We kept track of their minutes read for three weeks. My DS's teacher was great about keeping track of his time and sending it home. Can't say the same for DD's teacher. Anyway, at the end of three weeks my DS, 10yo had 1985 minutes. My DD, 6yo (ADHD'er) had read......are you ready.........
675 minutes! Her time didn't include reading time at school. I was pretty impressed. Normally she doesn't want to read for the ten minutes she is supposed to for homework each night.
Just wanted to share!
