I cant believe it. Dans grade took the practice TAKS test and at asembley the other day he was anounced as having the highest grade on the math test. I am soooo happy. He never hears anything good about his academics, only about athletics, so this is a nice change for him.

;D Rose got a "passed well" (vs passed or passed great) on the writing pre taks test. Reading is the 27th of this month and math is 24th of next month (I think) Some days are hard but we are progressing!!!

Don't you find it personally rewarding for something to be said about your child doing well in something...ANYTHING? It's not only wonderful for the children, but when you know you're apart of it....whew, ya feel like you're doing something right!! Hooorrrayy for them all!!!!

update on the TAKS test. They took the real taks test a couple of weeks ago, and Dan just found out that he scored 100 on the math. Last year at the academic awards they gave taks awards for the higest scores on the test. This year the state said they could not give awards for that because it would make the other kids feel bad. Then why do they allow honor rolls? It just makes the other kids feel bad if they do not make it. We took Dan out to eat and a movie to celebrate, so what if he did not get an award. At least the teachers told him they were proud of him.

OK, I haven't figured out how to make an award to stick in here to print, so just pretend to see it say CONGRATULATIONS DAN YOU ARE THE MAN, OK, NOT MAN YET, BUT CLOSE

Thanks. We have the athletic awards on fri, and he will get some there. I am sure that the teachers will let us know they are proud of Dan and He loves it when the teachers tell us things like that.

;D Talked to the teacher today. (last day of school) She said "If you needed summer school you would have been notified well before now" ???I wish I would have known that "well before now". Anyway that must mean we PASSED. Since she only got 2 ponts above passing on the practice test, I was a little worried.

Alright! I am glad she passed, I know we were worried about the reading and writing tests, But Dan takes the state test for special ed in reading, so he said it was easy. He just passed the writing one, but a pass is a pass.

A friend of mine and I had a picture taken at Bacalariut(sp) ( you know the religious thing for graduation), Just in case we didn't pass our English Finals. I had to get a 75 or something....got an 80, so yup a pass is indead a pass
Way to go!!! Kaiti
