I wanted to share some good news for a change.Stephanie has been on Concerta for a few weeks. She was on 18 mg and doing ok.Her doctor raised it to 27 mg Friday. The only side effect is sleeping but we raised her clonidine to a whole pill and that is better. She came home from school yesterday and told me that her teacher said that she was real smart.I saw her teacher this morning and she told me that Stephanie knew the answers to all her questions yesterday. She said that Stephanie "blew her away" with some of her answers.I am so glad that she is doing beeter and wanted to share the news with my "Friends".She can write her name now almost as good as I can.I am so proud. We have been trying to get her meds right for 6 months and finally have. Thanks to everyone for all your support. It is nice to share this news with someone who knows how it feels to worry about their ADHD child.

Hi Brenda, My son started on concerta about a month ago. He is on 27mg. We have seen great results with it. We have noticed he can focus better but is still a little hyper. We are increasing to 36 tomorrow. One thing I did notice is he did have a decreased appetite but after about 2 weeks it was back to normal. We were on Focalin before concerta and had no results. He has been paying more attention in karate and in sunday school, both of the teachers have noticed and improvement. It is great to share and read others success stories! Christine

Brenda, that's great news! I know Stephanie feels better about herself too. Isn't it amazing what our kids can do once we get their meds right! Then they can truly show what they know.
