Background sd8 has adhd/autism/hearing impaired as of last week we got the hearing aids here is the story....
Ok I have been whining and complaining about the money for these little peas, ($2,500.00) but I tell you it was just amazing watching her today after haveing the new hearing aids!!!
The dr put them in talked to me a bit about them, then went in the other room and said her name... She heard him!!! I had no idea it was this bad!!!
Then as we are leaving she is stomping her feet on the hard floor, and says "mom can you hear that?"... I said what, she said me stomping my feet... I cant believe she couldnt hear her feet hitting hard floors before the hearing aids...
Then we get to school, I signed her in and walked her to class... The teacher made a HUGE deal out of her hearing aids, and all the kids wanted to see them!! SD8 went to each kid showing them off, she seemed so proud... Instantly talking more "normal" voice instead of the constant yelling from her... I am so happy I was with her today to see all this, especially at the school... Suddenly sd8 (who is smallest in the class) seemed so big and proud... That is where tears welled in my eyes, I am such an emotional baby sometimes!!!
After today I realized, that I am the fortunate one in this situation... I get to share sd8 joys as if she were my child... And bm has no idea what she is missing..
I hope you dont mind my sharing my news, I am just so excited for her!!! My priority's have been reevaluated at the moment (meaning the money isnt as big a deal as I thought)!!!
Updated to this morning after putting in her hearing aids the cat meowed, and sd said "I can hear her meowing"... Again tears!!! So sad to think of things she has missed, and I cant wait for summer when the birds come back and sd can hear them for the first time!!!
