My daughter has been diagnosed for 5 years now. She has been taking Concerta for about 4 1/2 years. In April I noticed that her med wasn't lasting thru the afternoon for her anymore. I spoke with her doctor about increasing her meds (she is on 36 mgs) and he did not want to because of her size. She is 9 years old and weighs about 52 lbs. (but most of the kids in my husbands family are all small, weight wise). He suggested adding Tenex to her med in the afternoon. We tried that, but did not notice any change. The next months appointment I discussed it with him again, and I told me to give it to her in the morning with the concerta (she takes 1/2 of a 1 mg pill in the morning) we noticed improvement with that, but it is starting to not work as well. We have changed her med doctor from the Psychologist to her pediatrician, because he monitors her weight and everything else. He made a suggestion to think about trying Adderall XR. He feels that it will decrease the need for the Tenex (which he does not like giving to kids anyway). I don't know much about the Adderall Xr and would like some feed back about it. I am reading the "regular" stuff about it, but would rather hear from people whose kids have acctually used it, and how it worked for them. My daughter has ADHD/ADD, OCD, and ODD with some Autistic tendencies. Any information would be appreaciated. Thanks!!!

Rachelle....It was always my understanding that if a person had ODD then that had to be treated before the ADHD. I know about concerta but have not dealt with the Adderall...I know other members use this med and will give you feed back.
