an additional note about college as well. if this is the equivalent of going away to college here, they also have bigger decisions to make socially than when they lived at home.
no curfew from parents at least, there are drugs, drinking especially, the ability to miss class without being held accountable until the grades come in, etc. i know brittany makes better choices as a whole when she takes her meds.

THANKYOU Karen ..... and although Sam's college is IN OUR HOME TOWN and therefore he will continue to live at home .. I do so much take your point!! ...

Yes he will live at home ... but heck he gets to VOTE next year (just filled in the form today so its fresh in my mind!) ... and YES he has curfews which are based on "respect for the fact he lives at home" (so to speak!) .. in other words I want to KNOW what time he expects to be in ... and sometimes (at weekends particularly) this is "way past my own bed-time!" but I just CANNOT go to bed until he is IN ... and to be honest within that time frame he could potentially make some VERY unwise choices !! ... (Please NO!!) ...

I have somehow gone off on a tangent here and I think it warrants a fresh thread !! ;D Am going over now to post THIS "tangent" in ... ADHD SUPPORT ...
