Thought I'd share my news of the day. After DS came off adderall for the summer, I figured he'd gain some weight (there have been appetite issues). Saw the doctor today. DS has gained 1 pound . And here I thought he'd go up by at least 5! This means one of two things... the appetite issues were not very big issues, or he has been extremely active this summer. I'm going to try not to worry so much about his weight, just keep encouraging unlimited amounts of healthy food!

Jared has gotten taller but gained no weight this summer...on the brighter side ..with his increased activities he also has not lost any ground..makes me wonder if he would have lost weight on the meds. I will never know as the Dr wont ever give him any during summer anyway..but I do wander about the what if's. And I have also stopped to learn more about the label reading stuff this summer so it wasn't all for nothin.

my ds is on med´s at school-time´s only... so no med´s for us during vacation´s. I have to say I havent noticed any big difference´s between med´s and eating, it´s more like natural alternating, sometime´s he eat´s like a horse and sometime´s not...

I was always a pretty scrawny kid when I was growing up and I was not on any meds. I was always the smallest person in the class, and the last to be picked. I guess if he is happy and healthy, and growing somewhat, then try not to worry. Being active is a good sign. Miles

This morning my "active " child decided to start slapping at imaginary flies..loudly..during the quietest part of the reverends sermon. ;D I subdued one hand and held it captive for the rest of the sermon. It did manage to wake up the young newly married guy in front of us. ;D I want the meds back....now.

Lol - that's funny mothercat.
My guy has been off meds all summer and gained about 10 pounds! School starts on Tuesday and we're going to experiment with no meds. Boy am I nervous. I don't know whether to warn the teacher or just see what happens. We have been trying the fish oil and magnesium supplements all summer. I do want to see if they make any difference in his school performance.

Lol - that's funny mothercat. My guy has been off meds all summer and gained about 10 pounds! Only problem with that is the school clothes bill! I guess the one lb gain is saving me some money...... I'd try the no meds... you can always go back, and if you have to do that, then the teacher can only be grateful!

Had to laugh, last year our son was having a difficult time at church, and we all stood to pray, the minister said "let us pray", and our son screams at the top of his voice, "I DON'T WANT TO PRAY". We just kept our eyes closed so we could not see the eyes lasering through us. Miles

Miles Miles that has got me giggling soooo loudly!! ;D I love that!! .. ;D ;D It reminds me of Sam at his christening (he WAS admittedly 5 years old by then) when he went up to the very front of the church and stood RIGHT NEXT to the vicar on his pulpit just smiling up at him ... (much to my mortification!) and the vicar then said something about children .... "just like this little fellow right next to me!" ... (THANK GOODNESS that vicar was child orientated! )

Jared once hollared out "Is this really Christ's blood?" during communion ....they should be used to him by now. ;D

Nate tugged at my sleeve a couple of weeks ago at communion, he whispered in my ear 'Dad, you know there really isn't any blood in there'. I smiled at him and thanked him for the observation. Miles
