Are anyone's kids on both these meds? I know " Dad to Brooke" is using this combo but I haven't seen him around lately(or am I just missing his posts?). Anyway... Brock has gymnastics practice in the morn. Mon. Tues. Thurs. & Fri. So I let him sleep in as long as he wants on Wed and the weekend (if he doesn't have a friend sleep over). Depending on when he wakes up sometimes I just give him the Straterra if he wakes up past 10:00 and takes concerta he has trouble going to sleep at a decent hour at night and doesn't want to get up for practice in the morning (7:00). I have noticed that when he only gets straterra he is MUCH MORE opininated in what "he's going to do and not going to do" I don't know if it's being c o c k y / mouthy or what but there is a difference in his attitude w/o concerta. Can anyone else relate?

I know there are some members that use the combo...I wish I had some answers but I don't. I think if he is having an attitude I would continue the concerta. How old is Brock now? 12?

He'll be 13 in Oct. I usually give him, both meds, but straterra doesn't affect his sleep like concerta so if he sleeps in past 9:30 10:00 and I give him both he won't be able to fall asleep until 11:00 -11:30(sometimes later) so then he's tired the next day and it's a BIG fight to get him up for gym practice(during the week) or church(on Sun morn). He has a week off from the gym at the end of the month. I'm might just give only the straterra just to see if the "attitude"lasts more than a day. That was the only thing I really noticed, so if it stops... and his behavior is ok maybe we can eliminate concerta. Linda- How did Paul do w/o meds this school year? Is he completely off the them all the time. If he is he's my new hero ;D That's my wish...For Brock to be able to "control" w/o meds

We tried Jared on straterra before and he became obstinate , thingyy mouthed , and agitated. That is why we went back to concerta. All kids are different with meds..I would ask the doctor..maybe the combo isnt the exact right formula.

Brocksmom....Paul is totally off meds and he did fine this school year. Believe it or not he is has learned to organize....he is still hyper but he takes it out on his work He still manages his own lawn care business...he scorekeeps....and he does construction. There really is hope for our kids...Paul gave me fits when he was Brocks age...he started evening out when he was about14-15....so hang in there. BTW...Mouthiness goes with the territory at probably 11-13...that seems to be the age when YOU want to move away. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Not sleeping and loss of apatite are 2 of the side effects. My sons dr gave him a script for clonidine which helped with the sleeping. Cant help you much on the eating part. My son never had too many problems. He wont eat lunch but does eat plenty for breakfast and dinner.

Mostly(but unfortynately not always) those go away in time, few week´s or at least come more bearable... How long has your ds been on concerta? My ds10 has been on concerta for 2 year´s now and is doing fine with it. He did have trouble sleeping but it passed, loss of apetite has never been his problem....
