:)Does anyone have any experience with Effexor? Was on strattera and prozac (long history of depression)Am being weined off the prozac and stopped the strattera alltogether. I have high hopes as does my new Dr. Strattera makes me shake and ups my blood pressure (I think). Anyone with experience with strattera, blood pressure etc. please let me know. Thanks Sweety

:)Thank you Linda. I read that info earlier. Problem is I've read TOO much info. I was wondering if anyone had any personal experiences with it. Read a web sight where a woman talked about the extreme problems getting off of it, where it made someone suicidal, and other things. I know that 2 Dr's have recomended it to me but would like info first hand. I know that anyone can have a bizarre reaction to any medication, but am curious. Thanks

sweety, i took effexor for years and it was great. i, too, have had depression for yrs and have tried most of the anti-depressants. effexor was one of the most effective. seems tho, that after several yrs on a med, it loses its efficacy and i need to switch, so now im on zoloft. good, good luck to you. please let me know how youre doing.

i also take effexor. i take the slow release. the regular made me jittery. i've been on it for several years and it works great. i have had to up my dosage over the years unfortunately. i guess like amsmom said, over time, it loses it's effectiveness. my 16 year old son was on it for awhile trying to find the right medicine for him and it made him soooo incredibly angry about everything that we had to take him off of it. the regular also made him real jittery. i hope you have good luck with effexor. it's been so wonderful for me as there are many others i tried first and they made me clench my teeth so i got awful headaches. good luck karen

Sweety, I'm sorry it's taken me so long to see this. I took Effexor last year for several months. As a matter of fact, I just called my doc yesterday and asked him to call me in a new presc. and I'm trying to decide whether or not to go get it. I also took the slow release kind. The first few days it made me jittery but as I got used to it it made a big difference. I only noticed two side effects. One was it gave me bad headaches if I forgot it some days, the ther I'll send you a pm about. My doctor started me on a half dose for the first seven days and then the full dose. I did the same thing, only opposite when I stopped taking it. Hope this answers some of your q's. Take care!
