As many of you know, my ds has been on concerta for about 1 and half now, first on 18mg and now 2 month´s on 36mg on schoolday´s only. First I didnt see any side effect´s at all despite increasing the dosage, but now I´ve started to wonder Ds has trouble falling asleep sometime´s, usually he get´s to bed and is a sleep in 15 min´s but some night´s it take´s hour´s to get asleep....then I notice one thing that was just in front of my eye´s all the time: THOSE BAD NIGHT´S WERE ALL MONDAYNIGHT´S I felt so stupid I mean, it was SO OBVIOUS and I didn´t see it, he had those trouble´s at the first med-day of the week It´s always monday, tuesday may be a bit difficult but the rest of the week... nothing You know how bad it feel´s when you finally notice something you should have noticed a long time ago Bad mom

marja, you aren't a bad mom at all! you're wonderful! we all miss things sometimes the more obvious, the easier it is to miss. the best part now is that you see the problem and can fix it. or at least understand it. to you for being such a great mom! karen

Marja, I agree that you are a great mom. The only "problem" we have as moms is that sometimes we dont notice something because we live with it each day. Others can step back and see things that have changed quicker than we can because they do not deal with this stuff each minute of each day. I think you did great to notice that mondays were his worst day. Now you have something you can work with.

Marja, NOBODY is perfect! But you, my dear friend, are a far cry from being a bad mom!
It;s just hard sometimes for us to catch things in our busy lives.

Marja, you know that the experts get paid to observe and study these reactions... and not one of them has ever documented that the first night back on is a problem. I'd say that you are far more on top of this thing than any "experts"!
Good job! Now, the rest of us can watch for the same thing, and we didn't have to listen to any paid expert!
THANK YOU for sharing your observations.
YOU ARE A GREAT MOM!

Not sure that it is or isn't documented... but I haven't seen it anywhere. Which means that most people wouldn't make the link. I am impressed that you did. Sometimes we are too close to the problem to make such notes, but sometimes it can only be made by someone who IS close to it!
