Well, the mood swings and gone away. Thank god . Now we are trying to get him more motivated in school. We increased the strattera from 60 to 80 and have a follow up in 2 weeks. I keep on explaining to my son that he dont need his morning pill (adderall) cause he gets his meds at night. He thinks he need something in the morning. I wish I could get my hands on placebo pills, to see if he would work thinking he has meds. I have told him if he has 5 good days where he works hard and dont fight at school or home I would by him a $2 - $3 toy. We had to do it for 3 days to help him get over the anger problems. School is trying to cool reenforcements. I sure glad school is almost over then I can relax alot during the summer.

Is he still young enough to think a chewable vitamin is his "pill"? They taste decent, give them stuff they need, and dont cost tons.

That sounds like good news!!
I know the motivation in school is a tough one, especially for my sd... I mean WHO would be motivated to go do something every day, and know you are not very good at ANY of it?
Wishing you continued success!! Good luck

Well the sucess was short lived. He is really struggling in school. In fact he got kicke dout friday for hitting another girl. He told me that she was kicking her 1st and she is a mean girl. I cld the school to let them know and they are to check it out and get back to me. He is not doing anything in his last 3 classes and homework is building up. man only 6 more weeks of school....until summer. TEXT

tamienator .. I am sorry that the success on strattera was short lived!! ... Have you./your doctor considered giving Strattera along with Adderall or another stim? I understand this is NOT an unusual combination and has been very successful with some of the stories I have read .... It might just be worth asking your doctor about?

Tamienator Sorry to hear your succes story was so short. I´d say the same as Anne, how about a stim to help her concentrate better, I remember reading that strattera is not so good with helping on that. I´d look deeper on this kicking, some kid´s are very clever and will pick on the one they know will be blamed easily So take care that she isint going to be the "one that start´s everything", make sure theacher´s do get her story too an keep an eye on that.

Well, he was on Adderall 40mg during the day and everythig was working real good. Until About February when his agression and anger was getting out of control. But I'm wondering if maybe a lower dose during the day or something else. I know doing homework is harder then it had in the past. We do have a follow up appointment on Friday. When we increased the Strattera to 80mg they wanted to give it about 2 weeks before going back. Today was a better day.....but who knows what tomorrow or the next day will bring. Like the old saying goes......One Day At A Time.
