Yep, sorry to hear that he´s having problem´s, now you have to get him back to doc. he obviously need´s to have his med´s changed, concerta is not the answer to everyone.... it´s a trial and error, Good luck!!!

Sorry to hear this gina! We had the same problem with concerta, that jump from 18 to 36 and I had a different child, and one I didnt particularly like either!! ;D LOL For sd though she became very obsessive, a piece of lint on the floor would throw her off big time... What do you mean the dr cant see him again for a month? Oh man! That is unacceptable! I would be peeved ... Do you have any of the 18 left? I know it isnt enough, but it has to be better then this emotional crying... I wish I could help more!~ cat

I have certainly read that both Adderall and Concerta can make kids more emotional than usual ... but this sounds way over and above the extra emotion we can sometimes see ... I agree with the others ... Concerta does not sound like the right med for him ... and I would (for exactly the same reasons) suspect that Adderall could have a similar effect.... But please see your doctor asap!! GOOD LUCK!!

oh gina, i am so sorry to hear this, but i went through similar experiences w/ my ds when he was on stims. did you speak to the dr herself or her staff? if you spoke to the dr, i am appalled that she would tell you that you have to wait a month!!! that's totally unacceptable and unfair to your sweet boy and you. please call her answering service tomorrow and tell them you must speak to her directly. she must help you or she should be reported to the medical board. she is making your ds suffer needlessly. at the VERY least, she needs to tell you how to wean your ds off the concerta until she can see you . to make him suffer needlessly for a month is unforgivable and unethical. sorry that im on my soapbox about this but that dr really upsets me!!! to you and ds
