He is on concerta 27mg.I have to go talk to his teacher tommorow to see how he was at school today, but I have already noticed a big difference so Im feeling optimistic. He hasnt raised his voice once today and only that is a BIG thing all by its self Im going back to the doctor in a couple of weeks time to see if we have to stay with this dosage and to see if he is having any of the side effects..with any luck we have got it right the first time.

Always keep in mind that his behavior will level off after a few weeks..the angel period is a wonderful time and hopefully he wont need an adjustment but if they have to it is perfectly normal so dont worry about it and get all stressed ahead of time .I am glad to hear he is doing so well. I hope all your days go as well as today. Jared has been on 36 mgs for quite awhile and it works well.

Angel Phase....I haven't heard that before but I like it. It is so true though.Hopefully this dose will be the right one but if not...like mothercat said...don't stress it.

I am so glad that things went well for your DS. I see great things in his future. We also were able to tell a diffrence right away with my DS, and were lucky enough to get the right med the first try. Like the others said if you need to increase the dose after a while, dont fret about it, it happens. I hope things continue to go well for you both.

alright gina! i'm so glad things worked out for you ds. finding the right medicne and dose can sometimes take a long time. as the others have said, don't worry if they have to adjust his meds over time. we also had to give dd a boost of regular 5 mg ritalin for after school homework and dance. the concerta just didn't last long enough for her to make it thru the rest of the day. since this drug doesn't need to build up in the system, if you forget a pill on the weekend or during the summer, it's no big deal. other than behavior you aren't fond of! some parents take their kids off during those times. i didn't have a big problem with that except that's when they hang out with their friends, when they have them. without meds, they can sometimes be a little hard for friends to take on a regular basis. good luck and enjoy your peace and quiet! karen
