just curious here, i have been taking ritalin for a while now about 6 months but for the last month or so i have been getting dizzy sometimes real bad, i had a mri done and blood tests and they said they came up fine, today i am real dizzy and my vision is really blurry. could this be a side effect of the ritalin. i didnt know if anyone else had this happen to them or not. it seems odd to me that i would be taking this for about 6 months now and it just now is having side effects, any advice or help would be appreciated thanks

Daniel - I don't know if it could be the ritalin or not. Did they check you for an inner ear infection? I know that the last time I had one I had the same problems you are describing.

I had an inner ear infection that also did that a while back.... I still get dizzy spells from time to time but no vision problems, I hear migrains also give thoese symtoms.... I find it odd that if you've been taking it for 6 months and this is only happenning lately....
I was told that there is a virus going around that makes you dizzy and its very hard to get over, I was very dizzy to the point of feeling sick to my stomac last week but it went away after 1 day or so..... it comes and goes... I also got blood test nothing showed up... I hate the feeling makes me scared... hope you feel better soon....

I would be concerned, only because of what my sd's dr told me when we first started trying medication for her ADHD.... He said to never put sd on ritalin, because in people who are PRONE (meaning have had in the past) seizures, it can cause seizures... So yes the dizzyness would worry me, but again it was just a primary physicians recommendation for my sd specifically... My sd had a seizure at only 18 months old, so that was the reason according to her dr, that we couldnt use ritalin...
Be safe and talk to the dr again if it doesnt clear up soon...
