methylin (ritalin) questions

i dont have anyone i know taking this and i just had some questions about how much people take and how often. i take 30mg three or four times a day depending on how long my days are. somtimes i work real long hours, like 6 in the morning to midnight or longer. i am kind of paranoid about the adverse affects of being awake that long and taking that many doses in a day. i have noticed that one needs a good sleep before taking this. although my body can go that long with out much sleep the effects of the medication seem to acting weird if i take it with out a good night sleep anyone else had this problem... or anything else would be helpful. also does any one else notice a huge diffrence in the way it makes you feel about things in general...with out the medication i do things and think things and then later like after a good nights sleep i dont think what id did or said was appropriate. its kind of like when your drunk and you see an old friend and you talk about how you miss them and say things like we really need to stay in touch and at the time ytour really mean it, but when you sober up, you think that maybe it wasnt such a good idea or have no desire to follow through with you plans the night before ?...any way just wanted to hear from others experience about effects of medication thanks

Hi Daniel. I'm not on meds myself but my dd takes it and has for a long time. When I ask her how she feels on it she just says more focused and in control of herself. I'll delve more if you want me to. I know personally I notice her a little more in control while she is on it. She seems to be way more hyper and "out there" off meds. She speaks before she thinks, etc. She does have a pretty bad rebound effect while coming off of it at night. Remember this is a stimulant and therefore gives you the same "let down" as drinking a few large mugs of coffee would.
