My son saw the doctor today. He said wants my son on focalin in the morning along with Concerta just in the morning to get him over the morning with hurdles.
Just wondering if anyone else has tried this.

I've not tried concerta and focalin but I give my DD reg adderall in the morning with her adderall xr.It helps alot. She's on 5 mg xr and 2.5 regular. When we tried raising her xr to 10 mg it was too much. This way she gets a bigger dose in the morning and a smaller one at noon.It works for her.Good luck.

Kelly- The topic of focalin and concerta came up today while I was at my psych. She said that many people start their kids day off with Focalin , (which has a quick delivery system to help get the child on track quickly), and then give Concerta E. R. (a slower, steadier release) to get him through the day. If the child has rebound crashes after school, Focalin can again be given towards the end of Concerta's effective period (which for me happens at about the 8 hour mark) If your child has trouble sleeping, you may want to give the Focalin earlier and / or at a lower dose. I will be trying this combination myself, starting tomorrow so I'll try to let you know how it goes. Hope all goes well for your son. Paul

It is working!!! He is on focalin 5 for the first week (10next) with 2 concerta 36mg. It is great!! He is taking clonidine 1/2 tablet at dinner and that is helping with the come down. I wasn ot sure I was going to like it. I feel like he is on so much. Thank you for your feedback.

Hi, my youngest dd (10) takes 36 Concerta and 5 mg Focalin in the morning and she takes another 5mg in the afternoon to get her through homework. She really likes how it helps her and so do I! Glad it's working for you too!
