Well school has started and I put my son back on 5mg of adderall along with Strattera. His breath was horrible almost immediatly. Has anybody else noticed that with their kids. Any suggestions on helping it. He also really loses his appetite so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

My sd used "act" mouthwash, mainly for the flouride in it to help her teeth, but it works for bad breathe also... Maybe gum would help? Has he been to a dentist lately? Maybe he has an absess? Or something else causing the bad breath?
I dont think the appetite loss has anything to necessarily do with the bad breathe, then again I am not a dr, so I dont know for sure... Good luck, and I hope someone can help better then I!!

My daughter was on Strattera last month.I actually took her to the dr because her breath was so bad.I thought she could have Step throat or a mouth infection.Everything was fine.We stopped Strattera over 2 weeks ago and I've not noticed anymore bad breath.Maybe it was strattera.Weird!

To me it seem that adding in the adderall back in is when his breath becomes so bad. I think it makes his mouth extra dry. Funny but I didn't notice the difference when he was just on strattera alone. Poor kid tho other kids have said stuff about it tho. Just one more thing.

Actually it could be the meds - bad breath can be caused by gum disease or by the stomach, believe it or not!! Often people with ulcers will have bad breath.
