My son is currently starting a course of antibiotics for a throat infection. We are on holiday right now. I am not sure whether he is ok to continue on his Concerta or whether it is best to leave the Concerta whilst he is on the antibiotics...
Does anyone have any ideas/knowledge on this?

Anne I checked this on our pharmaca, didn´t find anything why those two couldn´t be taken at the same time. I checked Amorion(amoxicillin) and 2 other´s witch brandname´s were zithromax and flemoxin. Only warning were about birthcontroll-pill´s used with these, no mention of anything else. I looked also the site of concerta itself, only caution´s were about using blood pressure-drug´s or phenobarbitol and anxiety med´s. I THINK it´s safe to take those together Hopely this help´s Sad to hear that Sam has an infection, here´s hoping he´ll be fine soon

Thankyou both and Marja thanks so much for taking the time to look this up ..... I really appreciate that!
I have put him back on Concerta today ... just a low "holiday" dosage ... he is much better this morning so I think those antibiotics are doing their trick!!
Here on Spanish territory we can buy antibiotics straight over the counter... at home in the UK that is impossible and we have to go to a Doctor to get a prescription....

Anne, you´re welcome I´am glad that sam is fdoing better...hmmmm... buying antibiotic´s from the counter I´ll be much more confident whit prescription´s, but I know that´s how they handle it in there. Have fun
