Stephanie has been doing so good. Now she is developing tics. She is doing this weird thing with her whole face. It's like she is making scared expressions. She is also patting her hair down.I think these are tics.I don't know what to do now.She is on the lowest dose of concerta(18) and tenex .5 twice a day.If she is having tics on such a low dose maybe she shouldn't take stimulants. We tried strattera but it wasn't enough.I just feel like crying. She is doing so good in school and I don't want to mess that up but I'm afraid the tics will get worse.Anyone using tenex alone? What should I do?HELP

Ahhh, this is so frustrating for you I know. My son had ticks on Adderall but not on Concerta. Have you tried other stims? Maybe natural alternatives may help. I guess I would call my doctor first but beware they may not call those tics eventhough they probably will go away after discontinuing the med. good luck, Sue

The things I think are tics are just when her meds are wearing off at night. She is just constantly moving and can't go to sleep.Moving her fingers, toes, picking at her clothes, etc. Some are tics but I think most are nervous habits. She has had a few tantrums this week and tried to hit me one time.I talked to here teacher and she said she is still doing good in school.I'm going to see if we can increase the tenex and keep her on this combo until school is out.I'm going to see if she can try Strattera again over the summer. It just takes so long to start working and I don't want her school work to suffer waiting. She took it last october and it really helped her behavior. Her attention still was not all that great but we only tried it for a month.I have been hearing that it can take a couple of months to fully work. She is having too many side effects from the lowest dose of stimulants.Sleep,anxiety,movements,etc.We have tried a few stimulants and they all cause side effects.
