Hi there. I was wondering if any of you have had exprience with the concerta and clonodine combo. My DS doctor today mentioned about doing a combination medication treatment. She mentioned how Concerta helps tremendously with the inattentiveness, but other medications such as clonodine helps more with impulsivity and agression.
Any input is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Although my sd has never been on that combo, she has been on both of those medications (just not at same time)... Clonodine DOES help the agression in my sd... Sd is only on a small amount.05 am and another .05 pm dose... What is the dosage for your son?
We didnt have real good luck with concerta if I remember correctly we went from 18mg to the 36 mg (I think those were the only choices) because the 18 wasnt enough... Problem was the 36 would make sd obsessive over the sillyest things, and wouldnt let go (verbally) of whatever it was she was obsessing about it was interferring with her school, and home life alot...

Sorry cut that short! Sd is on adderall xr 30mg now, and the clonodine... I think we finally have it right for her... Every child is different, and I wish you the best of luck!!

My child takes ritalin la, ritalin, clonodine, and prozac. She just recently started the prozac. But after they put her on the other meds, she improved greatly in aggression, she does not hit me or call me names like she use to. She is not as impulsive and is better able to concentrate. Shelli

My DD was on concerta and clonidine and it made her too tired. She would get real irritable at times. Now she is on concerta and tenex and doing wonderful. No side effects. The concerta causes tics at high doses so the tenex is helping to keep the dose lower. She is on 18 mg concerta and tenex .5 mg in the morning and 1 mg at bedtime.Good luck!
