That just about says it all. Does anyone know if he needs to be med free for local or general anestetic? The doctors line is busy, but I know they're working today. Holidays are harder to get through.
The good news is he had 2 teeth removed 1 1/2 years ago and he didn't mind it at all. He really liked the laughing gas. For a kid who is anxious, this is THANKFULLY NOT one of the things that makes him nervous.

Sd had to take a sedative before her oral surgery, the dentist said not to give her the adderall xr, because the sedative will already have her pretty mellow... Good luck

Hope I am not too late here, but if it is just novicain I don't think it matters either way. If he is getting laughing gas, I would probably say don't take it.
If he is able to do a day without, I would only to be safe either way. If they are going to put him out, not totally under, but with like valium or something, he won't need any meds!! I was on cloud nine and totally out of it!

He hasn't started the stims yet. He's on Wellbutrin, Buspar, Imipramine and Gabatril. The doc says he doesn't have to stop taking any. He will at the very least be given laughing gas, but I'll find out more tomorrow.
He just hasn't been doing well on the combo anymore. When I've droped the imipramine down to about 20mgs, all h*ll breaks loose. When I've forgotten the 1mg of Gabatril, he's even more grumpy. And he's on the lowest dose of Wellbutrin. I have a formal meeting with his doc this Friday. In a way, I wish I could stop everything and start over.
Seems I've come down with the flu, so I'm not going to do anything about anything until I have my strength. My fabulous husand has been taking care of him since school is out this week. I only wish I had a day to lie around like this when I'm feeling better and not coz I have 101 temp.

hopeful, I'm sorry your child (and you) has to go through this. My ds9's permanent teeth are larger than his baby teeth and too big to come in, so we have had 6 teeth pulled so far. I am lucky, because he tolerates things pretty well and we just had it done at the dentist each time and didn't haave to go the oral surgeon route. But I think it's rotten luck that our kids have to deal with the ADHD, learning stuff being difficult and still have things like this! It seems like something should be easy for them!
One thing we have to watch is that some numbing agents have epinephrine in it, and that agitates my son, so we request that they use something without it.
Good luck with this. And I hope you feel better soon.
