Stephanie has been on tenex for a few days and has been crying every morning before school. She normally loves school. She begs to stay home and tells me that she misses me.She is taking 1 mg and last night I gave her 1.5 mg because her doc said it would help her sleep. She was worse this morning.Does the whining mean the dose is too high

I gave DD half of the tenex last night and half this morning. No whining this morning.I just hope she has a good day like yesterday. She earned 3 stickers yesterday and her teacher emailed me and said she has had a wonderful week.

Glad things are better lately. My ds was on Tenex's cousin Clonidine for awhile and it did wonders for his tics and attention (he doesn't have sleep difficulties) but he was really irritable so we had to take him off of it. Hope the Tenex works for you guys. Christie

Hi, My son was on Tenex for two years at one point. It helped him slow down the impulsivity. Eventually it didn't work anymore.
Since it does improve falling asleep and make kids so drowsy, it's probable that she was tired and whining. My son just can't cope when he is tired. We have terrible mornings. lisle

My son has been on Clonidine for two years. It helps his impulsivity alot. He takes .05 three times a day and .1 mg. before bed. He's eight-years-old and weighs #56. The Clonidine also helps him sleep. It made him very drowsy when he first started taking it, but now it's not near as potent for his system.
