Didn't you list a website awhile back where you could type in a medication and it would list any drug interactions? I was trying to find it and couldn't. Hate to ask you to list it again. But it was a great website! I promise I'll write it down this time!
Thank you.

OhMama, having problems with my son moods, crying alot lately on concerta. Gina mentioned you stated taking certain vitamins. I have him taking fish oil. She mentioned evening primrose, calcium, magnesium, vitamin C. Let me know. Getting stressed out!

PJD, You may want to question the doctor on your dose of Concerta. How long has he been taking it? Does the crying happen when it is wearing off or what? I don't remember, is his diagnosis adhd or were there overlapping symptoms of other things going on?
What is your gut feeling as to why this is happening?

Jared has been on concerta 36 mg for a year during school. I just recently put him back on for this school year. He has grew 2 inches and gained 11 lbs. since last year. Maybe like you said he might need a higher dose since he is older now. I would like to know about vitamins for him to take. He is just taking fish oil. He won't eat anything while he is on concerta either. Will vitamins help his moodswings? He is also taking Buspar for anxiety.

PJD, I'm not sure he would need a higher dose of concerta. I'm not so sure he should even be on the concerta if he is having a possible bad reaction, as you describe. Have you brought this to your doctors attention?
A healthy diet that includes vitamin, minerals, fatty acids will help but often more is needed. This may mean a medication change. The mood issue could be because this is not the right med? The dose may be too high or too low? It is best to call your doctor as I don't think it would be wise to try a vitamin program till the medication issue is figured out.
If you'll go over to the Natural Alternatives section of the forum you can get some good ideas about what to do with vitamins but please check with your doctor as soon as possible as I suspect there is a problem with the meds that needs to be taken care of first.
