Stephanie has been off her Concerta for 8 days because she had her tonsillectomy.When we stopped she was on 27 mg.Do I start her back on 27 or start slow and work up.I gave her 27mg yesterday and she was acting weird.Really nervous ,biting her nails,chewing her lips,etc.I have some 18mg and I am thinking of giving that a few days and then go up to 27mg.

Normally I would have said that I know of no reason why she shouldn't go straight back to 27 ... BUT if you are seeing a reaction then maybe the 18 is a better idea for 2-3 days before upping it back to 27.
I hope Stephanie is feeling better now after her tonsillectomy >>> i think that can be painful for a while!!

Thanks for replying AnneM.She is still having a lot of ear and throat pain.She starts back school monday but I don't think she's ready.She hasn't ate anything in 8 days.I just made chocolate chip cookies and she said she can't eat them.Her doc said not to worry as long as she is drinking.I guess I'll let her go and see how it goes.

Yes 8 days after an operation like that sounds pretty quick to me to be told by the Doctor to go back to school!! ... but as you say you can "see what happens" .. i hope she is ok ... I imagine the pain will ease daily... Send her a big get well hug from me {{{{Stephanie}}}}}}

I'm hoping the smaller dose will be enough this time.She was having too many side effects before.
