The Wellbutrin XR my son has been on since August was for a while doing wonders, now I'm not sure it's working so well.
We have an appointment on Monday. We've tried raising the dose and lowering the dose. Both of those changes brought on even more irritability. It has become very inconsistant with his adhd symtoms.
What if it turns out we need to change again? Anyone know how long it takes to leave the system? He's on the lowest dose of Wellbutrin LX(150mgs). All that is left that is a smaller dose is the 100mgs SR (doesn't work so well, very crabby) and the non extended release. I really fear doing any big changes while he's in school. He's finally made really good friends, and though the teacher says he isn't as good as he has been, it isn't "horrible" either. It has definatly gone down hill over the last 5 weeks.
I know if it comes down to it the doc will tell us what he thinks we should do. He is always very open to anything I have to say. I was just hoping someone out there may have a suggestion or idea. We can't cut the pills in half because it's their coating that releases the med either extended (LX) or sustained (SR). We have not tried the straight WB coz of there possiblity of the rebound effect.
My presents has just been requested to play a game so I better sign off.
Thanks for listening and any suggestions.
