well, I had enough the other day. I called the doc and demanded something for my DD10. I had enough of the brain dead behaviors and the spaciness. The last straw was pushing her brothers down the stairs and not realizing it, and pushing the hemophilac out of my truck that has a lift kit. They put her on Adderall XR, even though I requested Strattera. DD has been on Adderall XR before and it didnt work, but this will do until the appt on the 29th. Anything is better then nothing right now.. Some sanity is better then none.. keep your fingers crossed..

I really recognize your desperation. I hope the Adderall XR will help her and give you some sanity. That is a real foreign word to me (sanity). Why didn't it work before? What is her dx? Many have posted about positive results with this as well as Strattera.
Are you taking anything to help you cope better? I found something called "Anxiety Control" that is an amino acid formula. It seems to be working for me.

blue oreo, sorry you're going through such a rough patch now. hopefully you will see some results with the meds. glad you've got an upcoming appt., so why not make the most of it and take in a journal? i kept notes of time/date/activity and ds's hyperactivity and impulsive levels. it was very helpful to the doc to make med changes. it also helped me when doing dietary decisions. when safety is an issue, you've got to look at your options and move forward. good for you! do let us know how the appt. turns out! take care of YOU, too! prayers, 1mom

my own sanity is knowing I am loosing weight fast now since my RNY surgery (gastric by-pass). I'm 5 weeks out now and have lost 50 pounds already. My clothes are hanging and my arms are waving back at me.. I go to the gym and work out for a breather when DD is at school. The meds arent kicking in yet, but hopefully they will soon. We have a four day weekend from school, so my sanity it not doing to bad right now.. Dad is home on leave from surgery and he IS helping out for a change. THANK GOD

we had to take DD off the meds within three days of starting them. She developed "ticks" and hand shaking very badly. The doc is a complete ass. I demanded Strattera, and he gives her crap that didnt work, and now she is suffering side effects badly, like she doesnt have other things to deal with. He said stay off the meds until he can see her on the 29th. If I dont get what I want, this will be tha last time she sees him, he has NO compassion, nor has time to see her it seems like. This is pissing me off as you can see. He primary Ped doc has said he would get her ADHD meds and anything else I need if things dont work out with the Phsyc doc. Also the meds for mer OCD arent working anymore.. DD has huge sores on her mouth she is picking to death, and her big toe is huge from picking a sore there. The doc is useless to me at this point and cant seem to figure out what to give her, and the "trial this, and trial that" is killing me. He has her history and what works and what doesnt, so the idiot puts her back 0n what doesnt. How dumb can one get.
