Anyone know if Clonidine could be making Stephanie pee in her pants at school? She has done it twice this year.Last year she was in 4K and never had an accident. She has been on clonidine a few months and I'm thinking the clonidine is causing it.She used to never pee in her pullup at night but now she soaks through it sometimes. If we are in the car and she has to go ,she cries if we don't stop the car and find her a bathroom. We are switching to Tenex after next week because it is less sedating and longer acting.I'm hoping the tenex helps without causing her to pee in her pants. We are stopping all meds next week because she is having a tonsillectomy Monday and I think she needs a break.I'll probably start back the concerta and try tenex a few days after her surgery so she won't be so hyper and can get some rest.

One of my boys seemed to develop this problem of wetting his pants, not at school but at home. At the time he wasn't on any medication (9 yrs old). It was very disturbing as you can imagine. I don't know if your child has this problem because of the medication or not so stopping the med for a while should tell you if that's what it is.
What I found that helped is a natural product of European Pumpkinseed oil for bladder function support. It is said to support the entire system of bladder muscles. Including emptying of the bladder because it has a calming and harmonizing effect on the function of bladder muscles. This leads to a strengthening of the functional urinary system. It is an oil derived from a special cucurbita pepo pumpkin fruit called Curbita.
If you think this is something you would like to try you can call the manuf. and see if it would be ok to use for your childs age. 1-800-641-7555 I doubt most doctors would be familiar with it since it is not a medication. It worked like a charm for my boy after taking it for just a few days (1 softgel a day). I have continued to give it and found the bed wetting at night has stopped completely.

My son started on Ritalin and Clonidine right before Christmas and we had 3 wetting episodes during the day over the holidays. I asked his Dr. about it because he'd gone months (he's almost 6, but adopted and delayed due to early neglect) without an accident. The Dr. didn't know of any connection with the Rit or the Clonidine. Since we've gotten back into a routine he's not had any problems so maybe it was just getting adjusted. I hope so! Good luck working it out!
