Hi all not entirely sure what the spelling of it is clonidine? clonodine? anyway the Doctor is thinking of switching my son because he is having some problem with tic's being on ritalin and/or concerta. He is also on risperdal .75 twice a day He was just on the one pill of concerta, and the doc asked me to double it to see if would help the tics. the trouble is that the concerta dose was not high enough and he could not focus/organize thoughts etc and thought he may be having anxiety about school thus increasing the tics. but day 2 now and last night he was still awake at 10:30 saying he felt dizzy and could not breath. Tics dont seem much better yet either. today he had a terrible rage in his bedroom and broke of the door stopper..... has anyone tried the clonidine? think doc said that it is treatment used for tourettes patients with add, instead of the other way around (add patients that have tics) I tell you there are days when I dont know how I am going to get thru the rest of my life with this kid. I'm also worried what will become of him. If fear that if he keeps going the way he is, he will have no friends, no wife and end up living on the street. oh well tommorrow is another day as they say. thanks

My DD was prescribed clonodine because she wasn't sleeping well while on Concerta, but I looked it up in my drug guide and didn't like the sound of the side effects, so I never gave it to her. Some of the adverse effects of clonodine are behavior changes, agitation, hallucination, restlessness; there's enough of that around my house without adding side effects from a new med into the mix.

hmmmm now you got me thinking HOW is it spelled... Anyway! LOL
sd8 is on .05 in am, and .05 in the pm of clonodine (or whatever!! LOL)...
This was prescribed after sd had violent actions happening constantly at school... Hurting other kids... Supposibly will help her sleep too! But doesnt work that way... The violence is now doing soooo much better... This year there has only been one incident, and well sd was provoked if you ask me... So we didnt dwell on it, and are looking at a great year in school, well in the violence anyway... LOL

Glad to hear it seems to help with anger, because I tell you he's got such a short fuse, and it just sets everyone off once he starts. Thanks !
