Hello everyone! My 7 yr old daughter has been on Concerta 27 mg since March of this year. It is seeming to wear off by the time she gets home from school, homework is a chore sometimes just talking to her is a chore. My problem is she is also having a hard time falling asleep lately ( for the last month or so ) and it is horrible trying to get her up and dressed fed and all before school 
. Last time we went to the Dr. i told her about all of this and she said to wait until we got her report card from school then we will see what to do next 
. Well we got the report card and I went to confrences and all is going well in school. Her marks for the first quarter are good she is making huge strides in reading spelling and math and she is not disruptive in class at all. her teacher says she is mostly quiet and keeps to herself while doing her work he said the only time he has ever had to talk to her is when she takes out a piece of paper and doodles when he is talking or trying to teach a specific lesson. Now he also said that in the morning from like 830 til around1130 she seems quieter than normal and acts sleepy like she is in her own zone . I give her her pill at 730 am and I told him its probably getting in her system by the time she walks in the door to class. Now the problem I am having is tomorrow when we go to the Dr. because of the good marks in school she will more then likely overlook the difficulty falling asleep issue and the meds wearing off. The previous times I have talked to the Dr. I got the distinct impression that her main concern is at school not how they behave and how they act at home . How do I handle this tomorrow?? What questions do I pose to the Dr to make her understand my views and see things?? I most certanly dont want to over medicate my daughter . I understand there are sleep aids available for children but I have no knowledge of them and is there something I could give her to get her through the rest of the day and evening once she gets home from school??? Sorry this is so long but I wanted to try to explain the situation a little so hopefully someone can give me advice before the appointment.. Thanks
