Well we have my son on 25 mg of Strattera starting today.. he has been on 18mg for a month.. he is a little sleepy today and says he doesn't feel good... but he is working through it! So not too bad. I think it was good to start on the 18mg mabye not for so long. Doc says if I don't see results in 2 weeks to call in.. His target dose would be 29 mg for his wieght.. that is on the 1.2 mg per 2.2 pound formula.. so 30 should be the tops for right now..
anyone have advice on when they saw results after bumping up?

Brooke bumped from 18 to 25 today. Today is her first day of full strength (day 5).
Yesterday was last day of Concerta/Ritalin. I see good things this evening.
She is 59 pounds, and that should make her max dose 32 mg. The next size pill is 40 I believe, and the Ped doesn't want to over medicate.

When we were using Strattera, we were doing "fine" at 25 mg, and the Dr. felt we need a larger dose, so we increased. But we had a gradual increase in symptoms that we did not at first attribute to the Strattera. The first was stomach complaints, especially cramping prior to bm's and generalized feeling sick for ~1 hr. after taking. We had just started using supplements, so I thought it was something new we were giving, and tried to figure it out. But then finally realized it was the Strattera--even though he had taken it for 8 months with no apparent problems, and even tolerated the increased dose for a month. Then we realized the increasing episodes of anger were a side effect of the medicine also. So we have now tapered off, and although it's only been 5 days, his mood is already much more stable. Good luck--I hope things go well with this for you.

well it's been 4 days and I am not really seeing that much of a difference! It takes time I know. but I thought it would be a little quicker with the 18 mg already in his system for a month. He is a little emotional again.. cried last night but not completely without reason. We shall see as the week goes on.. Our diet is changing slowly to more gluten free for all of us. Our little two year old is on it completely.. so I am curious to see if that will change anything.
