Going to the psychiatrist today, and we may have to look into a medication change... Sd8 report card came in the mail yesterday, still not getting where she needs to be for attention, and self control... Not to mention reading, writing, math etc anything academic! The gradeing scale is one to 5... Sd8 had all 1, and 2
At least we have had so far a better behavior year... Any suggestions on what I can talk to the dr about for next med possibility?? Is there a higher dose of Adderall xr??
At the moment sd8 is on adderall xr 30mg in AM, and clonodine .05 mg at PM... Any thoughts or suggestions for me to discuss with the dr would be appreciated, I like to go in "pretending" I have a clue!!! LOL

meeting with psychologist did not go as I had hoped... Dr did agree to up the clonodine, as I hoped, but now dr wants me to cut the teeny tiny pill into 1/4!!! I am haveing a hard time cutting the thing in half without half the pill turning to powder... For those who dont know clonodine is about the size of a baby asprin... Dr wants 1/2 pill at night, 1/4 pill in the morning, and another 1/4 pill at end of school.... The dosage is only a .1 pill to begin with, and I am not seeing the sleepy affect it should supposibly have... I have no clue how I am going to cut these little things like this ... Oh well I will give it my best shot I guess, go back to dr again in 6 weeks... Cat

catseye, are you using a pill cutter? If not, try it. Any pharmacy will carry one or ask if your dr has one for you. Sometimes they get them from drug reps. Sue

When we used the pill cutter, it turned the clonidine to powder, too. My grandson ended up taking it,too, and my daughter said they just break it with their fingers. I tried it and it works much better than the pill cutter. Hope it works for you! Chris
