Is anyone using this combination of meds? I am thinking of try straterra again but leaving in the small dose of stimulant. We tried it this summer and loved the mood it put him in but did not like that it couldn't control his impusivity. He has been very emotional lately, crying in school etc. but getting excellent grades. I was thinking that straterra can help curb his emotions somewhat and the stim can continue to do what it has been doing. What do you guys think. Thanks

Hi... From what I have read the antidepressant side of strattera can be brilliant and I believe that if our kids are "happy" this is well over half the battle! ... My own son takes Concerta and St Johns Wort - a combination which for him works wonders ... the St. Johns Wort keeps him happy and has improved his attitude hugely whereas the concerta keeps him 'focussed'. However, I do understand that Concerta alone CAN produce an emotional response (although not always so!) and likewise adderall .... so possibly strattera might be your best bet and if that doesn't keep him focussed then the addition of concerta might just be the right combination for you... GOOD LUCK!!
