My daughter has just started having seizures out of the blue,she is now on medication for epilepsy even though no one is certain yet? The seizures started 3 days after starting Straterra so we stopped straterra straight the way.This is not a known side effect of this drug . Has anyone experienced anything like this?  |

Not to your extent... But sd did have [glow=red,2,300]A[/glow]seizure at 2 years old, it was later (years later) determined to be a fever seizure... VERY VERY scary!!! She was on tegretol for 2 years, phenobarbital (sp) the first year in addition to the tegretol...
Has you daughter had an EkG (I think that is what it was called) where they put sensors on her head and monitor brain waves while she is asleep??
Because of her past seizure activity when the adhd was diagnosed the dr recommended NEVER trying ritalin, as I guess that one can have that side effect...

That would be EEG and also a MRI. My daughter has had a seizure in dec of 2001 and Nov of 2002. After both her doctor's ordered a MRI and an EEG. It could be med related, fever related or something else. It is worth the cost to find out what caused it. Also a CBC and such wouldn't hurt. THere is a rare disorder, I cannot think of the name. It is a long name and here is an example of how the word is" beta beta" the name repeats if that makes since. It basicly means false seizure. It looks like a seizure but not the after effects ie the sleepiness and they only last like 10-20 seconds from what my doctor told me.

Yes my daughter has had two eeg,s,the first one was only on for 20 minutes and shown a little bit of epilepsy but then they say it can show it and not mean they have it as they are not 100%. The second eeg done i am still waiting results for,this was done overnight and had three seizures recorded on it.Been on medication for 12 days now nut still experiencing them. |

:oMy daughter had a coma like seizure in August after being on strattera for 5 months. Her eeg showed no epileptic activity. She was in this coma like seizure for about 5 hours. No one could explain to me what caused this to happen. I took her off the strattera and she's been happy and healthy ever since.
