Well my sd who is on medication is only 8 years old... When I posed this question to her, she said that when she is not on meds everything moves faster (she is off the meds on most weekends)... When she is on the meds things slow down in her mind... I dont know if that helps you, but from an 8 year old perspective that is what I got ;D ... Good luck

My 15 year old son says that his meds make him "Think, think, think" ... in fact he says when he is on his meds he seems to do nothing but "think" ... ! He also says that "within himself" they don't make him "FEEL" any different ... i.e. he doesn't FEEL like a different person or feel weird or strange or anything .... the effect is (to him) very subtle .... he just notices that he is able to stay "on task" .... Hope this helps!

Graywolf:
I think you need to speak to your mom. If you are not feeling any difference when on the med, they may not be helping you. It looks to me, from what you wrote that you don't feel like the medication that you are one is helping you at all. If you tell your mom, she can in turn tell your doctor and together all 3 of you can come up with a med that is more appropriate for you or maybe a change in the dosage.
Hope this helps

I have asked my son about how he feels on his meds. He says it makes his head hurt all the time I didnt know this he never said anything before I had asked he is 7.
He did say he felt different but it is hard for him to explain he is only 7. I do remember him telling me he couldnt stop thinking about certain things or control asking questions.
I have taken him of the concerta.

My 12 yo daughter says she has more self-control when she takes her meds. She's on Strattera 40 mg. I can tell when she hasn't taken them because her voice gets LOUDER and higher pitched and she starts talking baby talk and dancing around like a little kid showing off.

My DS is also 13 and when I asked him how he felt on his meds he said he felt like a normal kid. He said he can not tell a big diffrence, but if he does not take them, then he can really tell that he needs them. I can tell by looking at his school work when he was on the meds and when he forgot to take them.
